My family and I started looking for a new home in the DFW area in 2002 as we began to relocate from out of state. We were familiar with the area, so the communities to north of DFW airport were where we focused our hunting. We considered most of the usual neighborhoods and once we drove through the gates of Chateau du Lac, the choice was made. The natural beauty, the security, access to Flower Mound schools and so many other parts of the development ended our search on the property we now call home. Another important factor for us was the proximity to DFW airport and the easy access to both the Dallas and Fort Worth business communities. Being so close to everything, yet so removed from the hassles of other luxury developments makes Chateau so appealing. We feel like we live in the country, but the city, and everything we need is just minutes away. Chateau du Lac is a place we’re proud to call home and we would recommend it to anyone seeking a first class, gated neighborhood that is situated in the prettiest part of north Texas.

When we were first looking to buy land to build on, we were torn between a lot here in Chateau du Lac and a lot in a neighborhood that was already more developed and with what we perceived to be more of a sense of community. We chose the lot in Chateau because we really loved the piece of land. To our surprise, however, we found that in addition to a beautiful neighborhood, there really is a sense of community amongst our neighbors. Whether it’s the ice cream social, early morning walkers, monthly luncheons, or meeting fellow golf cart/buggy riders out in the evenings, there is a sense of warmth that really brings everyone together. So while the prestige of a gated community has many advantages, we found something far more important – a neighborhood with kids of various ages, friendly faces, social gatherings, and a unity that goes beyond what we’ve experienced anywhere else.
